Biography

The Band

IN TRANSIT have been together for 20 years as a duo and as members of a trio, four piece and at one point a 6 piece touring showband but the core of the act has always been Mike and Naz.

 The act has experimented with various line ups but eventually the hassle of keeping other musicians employed (and turning up!!) became uneconomic (and a pain!) and they decided to concentrate purely on the duo work.

 The band consists of Naz (Vocals) and Mike(Keys and Vocals) and is completed by laptop driven SELF GENERATED tracks. All the backings are created by us in our state of the art studio (www.reallycoolstudios.co.uk) which is also available for hire.

 Because of their extensive experience in high tech , the band always generate a big sound regardless of personnel and the large Bose P.A system and LED lighting mean they can fill any reasonable venue (if you’re hiring the Albert Hall we’ll probably have to hire in!)

 They have experience in touring the U.K and Germany and were resident at Holiday centres for some years. The act has always been able to generate a party atmosphere with instantly recognizable songs from the 60’s to present day.

Michael R. Smith

Mike was formerly a keyboard player and session programmer/player for many famous acts including Gary Numan , Go West  Cliff Richard and the Bachelors amongst others. He was working as MD and Keys for “The Rock and Roll Legends” when he met Naz and they formed IN TRANSIT.

 A downturn in the recording business in the early 90’s saw him return to live work and with partner Naz play venues all over the UK for the usual suspects…… Haven, all the TED parks , Fowlers,  Warners etc.  Now moved to a new house in LLanwrtyd Wells he is looking forward to getting back to the clubs and Parks of Wales and having fun.

Naz

Formerly a backing vocalist for Con and Dec the Bachelors and Edison Lighthouse , Naz has developed into one of the premier club female vocalists in her own right.

She was working in a theatre show “The Rock and Roll Legends”  in the early 90’s when she met Mike and they decided to work together.

 Her 80’s album “Naz Soul Diva” charted  in Europe but all things must end and by the 90’s she was ready to work with Mike and hence IN TRANSIT was born.
